Brighton Marina News 2014

With Seb now in Barcelona setting up a new RYA Sailing and Powerboating school, Davie Mossman will be taking the reins for the Brighton Marina Centre. Our team at the Marina is taking shape for the 2014 season and we will continue progressing the centre to new heights. Claire Warner will head the office, Joe Fry and Anna Strang will be senior instructors in charge of running on water activities, hire and membership and Steve Hacking will be taking charge of yachting. After joining in with the Fastnet, Sarah Rossiter is now totally hooked on her off shore racing and plotting ways to do more, she will be with us on a part- time basis.

Congratulations to Joe Fry who has just completed his RYA Dinghy Senior Instructor and is now gaining experience on the yachts by taking his Dayskipper next week. He is also planning to complete his Yachtmaster later this year. Anna Strang successfully completed her Yachtmaster last year, so we will now see her on yacht training as well as powerboat and dinghy training – which is great news for our customers.

Yacht News

Yacht “Danny” is getting a new engine which is being fitted by our star maintenance man Rick Hallingan. Danny will become the main charter yacht where you can charter her from a two hour practice to a weekend trip to France or the Solent – its a perfect opportunity for those Dayskippers that need extra miles to progress to Yachtmater, without having to pay heavy charter costs. Incidentally we have a Yatchmaster Theory Course coming up on the 14th to 18th April. This will be followed by a 3 day Coastal Yatchmaster Preparation & Exam starting the evening of April 18th.
