This level 2 course aims to consolidate your basic knowledge of sailing and develop an awareness of safety. By the end of the course you will be capable of sailing a boat without an instructor onboard in light winds. On the RYA Sailing Level 2 course your skills will improve as we introduce you to the five essentials of sailing: balance, trim, centreboard, sail setting and course made good.
On our sailing courses we use our our Delphia 24 keelboats: This is a larger, more stable boat with a fixed keel which stops the boat from capsizing. Keel boats are a step up in size from dinghies, more like a small manageable yacht but not as big as a cruising yacht. They can bridge the gap between dinghies and cruisers, offering many benefits of both, to the adult beginner.
RYA Sailing Scheme
Once you have completed your RYA Sailing Level 2 you can become a member of our Coastal Sailing Club.
You will be sailing confidently without the instructor onboard, ready to hire our boats on the sea and practice your new found skills!

I would highly recommend Lagoon Watersports. Great tuition, knowledgable staff and plenty of time on the water
The course was exhilarating. Truly the most exciting sport I have ever tried. I’m hooked
My friends and I went down to the Brighton Marina Watersports a few times to learn how to sail on keelboats. Our instructors were very helpful, very friendly and relaxed. There is a good selection of boats to rent / classes to take at a reasonable price. I definitely recommend them!
Great instruction. Lots of time out improving on the Water. Thank you so much for a fantastic weekend of sailing
