Sportivate Girls Wakeboarding in Brighton Harvey Dawkins2018-02-09T14:13:20+00:00 This season at Lagoon Wake Park we have been working at getting more ladies hooked on Wakeboarding. We were lucky enough to get a grant through sportivate which aimed to get more women into wakeboarding by offering them a great deal on a 6 week Learn to Wakeboard course, this encouraged girls that have never done any watersports before to have a go, along with other like minded girls. The course was really popular and the girls were shredding. By the end of the course we had girls riding switch, popping ollies and ollie 180’s and a few girls managing to land surface 360’s. At the end of the course, due to demand we started Girls Wake Club, which is held on Tuesdays 18.00-20.00. The club is aimed to keep girls riding and learning new tricks, it is already popular and we now have a regular crew of riders who are challenging the men in the style stakes! The Sportivate girls instructor , Lily McBride said “I have really landed on my feet with the woman’s sportivate sessions, They have been so much fun and I have really built up a great relationship with each and everyone of them. Club night went so well today. I was so proud of all of them today showing off what they have all learnt .. and so happy that I managed to teach them all of that, and make them that happy :). It was a great feeling!” If you’re a girl and you love to shred, get involved and come down to GIRLS NIGHT. You can come down for £25 a session or it’s FREE if you’re a Club member. Whether you want to practice your ollies, hit the sliders or get some air – this session is for you. Our girls wake club instructors will be happy to give you tips to improve you wakeboarding and keep you learning new tricks!
