I had a go at the wakeboarding on the zip wire. It was great fun, highly recommend. The girl running the class was very patient and knowledgeable and to my surprise I managed to get up. Exciting and fun will defiantly do again.

I booked a lesson with a instructor to go on the cable. They supplied me with a wetsuit, impact vest and a helmet. Reception staff where very I regularly head down to Hove Lagoon for a paddleboard or wakeboarding session when I'm in Brighton visiting friends and family. Such a fun and welcoming enviornment. The staff are friendly and always happy to share their tips and expertise. I can't wait till i'm in the area next; I'll certainly be finding some time for some on the water fun.

Ian Cunnings

I've used the wakeboard wire a few times and have to say it's been great. The staff are really helpful (some more than others) and give good tips and guidance so you can improve your style and try new things.

Total Colibacteria

Faecal Colibacteria

Faecal Enterococci

  • Natural algae growth occurs in the Lagoon. This algae can look unpleasant particularly when it blows to one corner of the Lagoon. It is harmless. It is NOT blue/green algae that fresh water lakes can suffer from.
  • Sometimes there is a smell. This smell is caused by the natural process of the algae.
  • Brighton and Hove City Council treat the water with an organic substance to help suppress the algae growth.
  • The water in the Lagoon is sea water rather than fresh water which prevents some common water quality issues that lakes suffer from.
  • The Lagoon is topped up with fresh seawater every few days.
  • The Lagoon is very shallow so the sun can penetrate to the bottom.
  • There is a high level of evaporation and leakage in the Lagoon.
  • The sea water that goes into the Lagoon meets all bathing test requirements.
