A private 1 to 1 windsurf lesson with a friendly, qualified RYA instructor can offer you an intensive way to learn a new sport or master new skills to improve your windsurfing. Lessons are suitable for all abilities, from complete beginners to those who are more advanced. 1 hour lesson with equipment: £90.00 weekends and July/ August, £75.00 other times. This includes an extra one hour of windsurf hire, so you can practice you new found skills! All equipment including wetsuits is provided. Add a second person for extra £40. Add third, fourth and fifth person for £25 each. Private RYA level 1 course – from £285weekends and July/ August, £240 other times. Includes 4 x 1 hour tuition sessions and 4 hours of practice time and 2 free instructor led clinics. Private windsurfing lessons on the sea for intermediate and advanced windsurfers These are two hours long and cost £175 including equipment hire and safety cover. What to bring Swimwear: To wear under the wetsuit and impact vests which are provided.Towel: We have hot showers so you will need a towel to dry off at the end of the session.Bag: To put your wet things in.Other stuff: Suitable clothing for the weather on the day. Sunscreen, layers in case the wind gets up, anorak or waterproof jacket.What not to bring Valuables. We have free lockers in the changing rooms but better safe than sorry.
Water quality The water quality in Hove Lagoon is independently tested regularly during the summer season as part of the Brighton and Hove City Councils seafront beach water quality testing. Lagoon Watersports opened in 1994, since that date the water in Hove Lagoon has passed every test.

Alterations to Bookings at Hove Lagoon Customers are able to rearrange course dates up to two times with no charge when Lagoon Watersports is given : 48 hours notice for courses under £75 per person 7 days notice for courses priced between £76 – £300 per person 14 days notice for course over £301 per person If Lagoon Watersports is given less than the required notice period this is considered to be a cancellation. In circumstances when a customer requests more than two changes of a date, a rebooking fee of 50% of the course fee will be charged. In circumstances where the customer is unable to choose new dates or Lagoon Watersports is unable to offer suitable alternative dates a credit will be applied to the customers account that is valid for 24 months. Cancellation charges Customers may cancel a course with written notification from the lead name in your group. The following cancellation fees apply when Lagoon Watersports is given :
Course Cancellation by Lagoon Watersports In circumstances where Lagoon Watersports cancels a course (Excluding Force Majeure), the customer may choose a new date or a full refund. Force Majeure In circumstances out of our control we will endeavour to rebook and hold credit for any activity in the future valid for 24 months. This includes cancellation by us due to COVID-19. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.
RYA Courses Due limited availability you can only reschedule up to 14 days prior to the course start date to give us time to fill your place, within 14 days and up to 48 hours it will cost £99 to reschedule. Within 48 hours you will need to rebook at full cost of the session/Course Zero to Dayskipper and Learn to Sail packages are allowed a maximum of 2 changes to dates without penalties, this must be at least 7 days prior to the course date otherwise a penalty fee of £75 will be incurred Boating experiences trips, Powerboat ride, Jet Ski Safaris Individuals booked onto boating experiences may reschedule up to 48 hours prior to the activity, within 48 hours you will loose your booking and given a 25% discount on rebooking
You may cancel with written notification from the lead name in your group. The following cancellation fees apply :
Group bookings confirm numbers 4 weeks prior to the event with the final balance. Any changes in numbers we will endeavour to accommodate, the following applies Numbers increases up to 24 hours prior to the event will be accommodated as much as possible, priced per head Number decreases up to 7 days prior to the event will be accommodated, but where this reduce your group size below 6 persons you will need to pay for 6 persons. Session durations might vary depending on changes to group sizes
RYA Courses If we need to cancel due to Instructor availability, damaged equipment or engine failure or weather conditions/Sea State we will give you as much notice as possible and offer new dates to complete the course. Boating experiences trips, Powerboat ride, Jet Ski Safaris If we need to cancel due to Instructor availability, damaged equipment, engine failure or weather conditions/Sea State we will do all we can to arrange another suitable date, if we cannot provide suitable availability then you will be offered a full refund Force Majeure – In circumstances out of our control we will endeavour to rebook and hold credit for any activity in the future with a two year expiry
Managed to fit us in for a private windsurf lesson for my 3 kids at very late notice, they totally loved it, very friendly instructor and safe environment. Shame we don't have time for wakeboarding tomorrow. Or SUP. Or Laser sailing...

We were on holiday in the area with our 2 teenage daughters. we always try something new whilst on Holidays; something a little out of our usual comfort zone and this year it was an hour's windsurfing. none of us had tried this previously and we had a private session with a tutor, followed by an additional hour for us to use the equipment. Our tutor was lovely and extremely patient as we initially struggled with nerves and balancing on the boards. however, we had a great time and really enjoyed this as a family afternoon together.

Hove lagoon is agreat place to learn windsurfing because the water is so shallow. Being on the coast, the wind is pretty reliable. The team who work there are enthusiastic, friendly and helpful
