Charters from Brighton & Barcelona Harvey Dawkins2018-02-10T12:51:32+00:00 Brighton Marina is a fantastic location, close to London and only one mile from Brighton city centre. The marina boasts great facilities with plenty of shops and restaurants. Sailing off Brighton coast offers some spectacular scenery from the famous Brighton Piers and city itself to the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head. We offer bareboat and skippered charters on our keels boats and yachts. Our keel boats take a maximum of 5 people and are suitable for a brisk sail just off Brighton. These boats are normally limited to a 3 mile zone from the Marina which is perfect if you want to enjoy the the sights of the city from the sea. We also offer skippered charters on our Benteau 36.7 and Benteau First 35 and bareboat charters on our 36.7, both yachts take up to 8 crew. You can charter a yacht from Brighton with or without a skipper, for a few hours, days or a week. Over a weekend you can sail the dramatic chalk cliff coastline toward Eastbourne and stop over for the night. Eastbourne is an attractive marina with a lock to enter and plenty of waterfront restaurants. Premier Marinas run both Eastbourne and Brighton Marinas so you can often get a free nights berth using one of the boats “free visitor nights”. The great part of sailing off Brighton is there is little in the way of shipping or navigational hazards. You do however need to be aware of shallow waters off Worthing, the Piers off Brighton and the rocky ledges off Beachy Head. Obviously if you want to go further afield and charter for a longer period of time the Solent and France are viable and exciting destinations. Crossing the 60mile crossing to France can be a challenging and you have to be alert for shipping and navigational hazards – it is a very rewarding finish when you end up relaxing in a French restaurant after a long crossing! The Solent equally can be a very busy destination with lots of rocky coastline and lots of shallow water – With the inlets and bays it makes for an interesting and beautiful sail. If you want an adventure abroad in often warmer climates, we now have Barcelona as a destination for yacht charters. You can charter our Bavaria 37 and travel north towards the rugged coast of Costa Brava or south towards Tarragona. The scenery is often spectacular and sailing conditions are windy and sunny – Of course the Apres sailing and stunning anchorages, ports and towns make chartering a yacht in Spain a great adventure and an unforgettable experience. With cheap and easy flights from the UK to Barcelona is an easy destination to reach with guaranteed weather most of the year – and accommodations onboard the boat is included in the costs! Qualifications for Bareboat Charters – RYA Keel Boat Level 2 & Dayskipper The qualifications and experience required to charter our Keel Boats is the RYA Keelboat Level 2, which if you have no experience you can be gain over a 4 day course.
