October Opening times

Monday and Tuesday : Closed
Wednesday – Friday : 12:00 – about an hour before dark
Sea safety : Weekends 10:00 – about an hour before dark

NO WAKEBOARDING FROM October 15th until further notice (see below)

November and December  Opening times
Monday – Friday : Closed
Weekends : Windsurfing and hire on the sea only. (Please see below)

We are loosing the battle to keep the Lagoon full enough to wakeboard.

  • We started with two pipes flowing into the Lagoon. Damage by the weather has reduced this to one. One pipe is only enough to keep the Lagoon pretty much at the current level.
  • The continuing bad weather has damaged the second pipe and we are struggling to relay the pipe.
We don’t believe we can get the Lagoon back to full based on the difficulty of relaying the pipes, the weather and tides. In addition to this the council has decided to withdraw support for funding for the pumps late on Thursday. Therefore the Lagoon is emptying.
Therefore we have no option but to make our last wakeboarding session for the time being on Sunday.
Membership extension and price freeze
  • We will extend all wakeboard and Pro memberships by 2 weeks to try and make up for this. e.g If you renewal date is April 1st 2019 it will now be April 15th.
  • Existing members will be exempt from 2019 membership price rises when they rejoin.

Other activities on Lagoon
Windsurfing  : Fine to continue and remain under review
SUPing :  Fine to continue and remain under review
Kayaking :  Fine to continue and remain under review
Sailing : No sailing
Clinics : Windsurf and Sup clinics will continue

On Sea
All activities continue as usual.
Safety cover remains as usual.

The future
We know you want to ride. We are working with the council and the contractor to get the main pump fixed. The parts have been ordered. We really are doing our very best to sort this out. Wakeboarding will be back soon.

Our sincerest apologies
Everyone at the Lagoon.

How membership fits into our centre 2018-02-14T15:20:29+00:00

Lagoon Watersports operates by offering tuition to the public, groups and hire (membership) in multiple activities. Not one activity or element is big enough to sustain the centre on its own. The success of the centre is based on multiple activities balancing the three elements of tuition, groups and hire.

Our success is based on introducing new people to watersports and providing a route for them to practice and progress.

In practice this means members do not have sole use of the equipment or cables. There are times that you may not be able to gain access to the equipment or cable time you want as it is being used for another part of the operation. We know you want to get out on the water as much as possible and we provide as much availability of equipment, staff and wakeboarding time as possible. Please understand the facilities are for the use of a wide range of customers and not just Club Members. Sometimes it may not be possible for you to get your preferred session times.

If you have any difficulties please contact us.

Cancelling membership 2018-02-14T15:21:06+00:00

Your membership will end after 12 months at which point you can decide if you wish to rejoin. All communication regarding membership administration must be sent to

If you are paying by monthly payments these should stop when your membership ends. BUT it is your job to ensure that your bank follows the instructions on the standing order mandate correctly. We strongly advise you to check that the payments have stopped. We will not be li- able for a mistake made by your bank and will not return over payments.

By choosing to pay by Standing Order you are accepting that you are liable for the payment of the full annual membership fee. It is not a monthly membership fee, it is a way to enable you to spread the cost of your membership over 12 months.

We will not refund a membership for any reason. eg job relocation.

Illness or injury

In the event of illness or injury making it impossible for the customer
to use the facilities, Lagoon Watersports will consider a membership holiday period until the customer is able to use the facilities again. No refunds will be made and full payment for the membership period is still due. The maximum length of any holiday period is 12 months.
