The BTEC Level 3 Sport (Outdoor Adventure) is a 2-year full time course that is equivalent to 3 A-Levels and represents the ultimate vocational course by preparing you for University and Industry. The course does this by combining the BTEC Sport programme with practical activities, work experience and employer valued, professional National Governing Body (NGB) instructor qualifications.

This unique and dedicated course has been specifically designed to give learners the opportunity to build a career in the outdoor and leisure industry specialising in watersports.

At the end of the course learners are able to proceed to University or are ready to gain employment in the industry using their Instructor qualifications that they have completed during the programme. This is why this course is so unique!

Future Prospects

This course will prepare you to work in the watersports industry as a sailing or windsurfing instructor, or give you’re the grades for University to potentially study a PE Teaching or Sport related degree

Entry Requirements

Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 (mainly at Grade 5) including English and Maths. PE at Grade 5 is preferable but not essential. You will need to have an interest in sport and watersports, but not necessarily experience in, to fully access the course.

Newman College is in the top 20% of all colleges Nationally in terms of student progress and we are proud to be working with Rockley Academy based out of Hove Lagoon to be delivering our new BTEC level 3 Sport in Outdoor Education. This exciting new partnership gives students the very best in both the market leader in terms of outdoor education training and delivery and the high standards we have at Newman College.
