Corona Virus Update

Based on government advice we have temporarily close both our centres.

We are beginning to plan for reopening at Hove Lagoon but not at Brighton Marina.

Before we do that we would like to thank everyone that has supported us in this challenging time. We have been touched by the support we have received. One member kindly offered us their pension, we turned that down. We have felt the love and it has made a difference. So many people have and continue to be flexible and understanding. We could not have made it to this point without the support and flexibility of our suppliers and bank. We owe them a massive thank you for giving us breathing space. Our team of staff is who we are and before the furlough scheme was announced they made sacrifices. Without all of those things, things could have been very different. Thanks team we appreciate it. We are also indebted to the NHS and other critical workers, and without them we would not have the chance to even think about playing now.

As we gear up to reopen we will need continued support and flexibility. As you are aware things will not be the same. There are going to have to be a lot of changes to adapt to the new environment. We will be opening with baby steps. Capacity has to be restricted. However, the fundamentals of the “Lagoon” will remain. The place, the people, the fun and the love of being on the water!

Some people are very excited about us reopening. Others are not ready….we understand that. We are currently writing a phased opening plan, COVID Secure workplace plan, adapting risk assessments, operating procedures and staff training. This is not a 5 minute job! We will make the phased opening plan and COVID Secure workplace plan public in a few days. Unfortunately we do not currently have the required guidance from the government for all areas of our operation to even plan to reopen. These activities must remain closed.

We have missed you!

See you on the water…Soon
