Kids Activity Week at Hove Lagoon

Check in time is between 0845 and 0900. The finish time is 1430. The Activity Weeks are a mix of land and water based activities, the instructors generally decide a program depending on the weather conditions. Please make sure the kids have clothes they don’t mind getting dirty and plenty to keep them warm. Once everyone is signed in on the Monday morning there will be a briefing for the parents to explain how the week will work.

Sign in

  • Parents or Guardians please save time and sign consent form before arrival 
  • Please ensure that you have given an emergency contact number.
  • Each day your child has to be signed in and out.
  • Permission can be given to allow your child to sign themselves in and out, this must be clearly marked on the booking form.
  • Please specify if someone else is picking your child up or if your child is making their own way home.
  • Please ensure that you are on time to pick your child up after their activity.

Medical Conditions:

It is vital that you inform us of any medical conditions that your child has or anything else you feel we should be aware of.

Issues during the course :

If you have any issues or concerns during the course please let us know immediately. If there is a problem the sooner we know the quicker we can address the issue.

What to Bring

  • Swimwear: To wear under the wetsuit and buoyancy aids which are provided.
  • Towel: We have hot showers so you will need a towel to dry yourself off at the end of your session.
  • Clothes they don’t mind getting dirty and plenty of clothes to keep them warm.
  • Plastic Bag: To put your wet things in.
  • Other stuff: Sunscreen, layers in case the wind gets up, anorak or waterproof jacket.
  • A packed lunch or pocket money to buy something in the cafe if you have not pre booked lunch.

What not to bring

Valuables: We have lockers in the changing rooms but better safe than sorry.

Course date and times

Please arrive 15 minutes before the session starts. Please allow ample time for parking and possible delays.


IMPORTANT – We have two venues in Brighton. Please check you are heading to the right one. If you are coming by taxi please double check they are taking you to the right venue.

Hove Lagoon, Kingsway, Hove, East Sussex BN3 4LX  

Car Parking

There is free parking for up to 4 hours opposite the Lagoon. If this is full or you will be staying for longer there is further metered parking on the southern side of the main coast road, the A259 Kingsway, just a short walk to the Lagoon. Opposite the lagoon is a residential area which has a small residents parking restriction on it, please check at the time of parking.

Cafe and Free WiFi

We have a cafe on site serving great coffee, food and drinks. 

Friends and family not taking part in activities are welcome to watch.

Changing of dates

Customers are able to rearrange course dates up to two times with no charge when Lagoon Watersports is given  :

48 hours notice for courses under £75 per person 

7 days notice for courses priced between £76 – £300 per person

14 days notice for course over £301 per person

If Lagoon Watersports is given less than the required notice period this considered to be a cancellation.

In circumstances when a customer requests more than two changes of a date, a rebooking fee of 50% of the course fee will be charged.

In circumstances where the customer is unable to choose new dates or Lagoon Watersports is unable to offer suitable alternative dates a credit will be applied to the customers account that is valid for 24 months.

Our cancellation policy applies in all circumstances including no shows, illness, relocation, transport failure and bereavement.

Changes to Booking

If, after your booking has been made, you wish to change your course/event in any way, we will do what we can to reasonably accommodate such changes, but it may not always be possible.

Any request for changes to be made must be in writing signed by the Lead Name in your party. You will be liable to pay any costs and expenses that we incur in making this alteration. Should you request a major alteration to the course/event booking within 4 weeks of the commencement date (such as a change of date, significant decrease in group size) then this will be treated as a cancellation and re-booking.

Customers wishing to add to a party after the initial booking will only be able to do so if sufficient places are available. Availability should not be assumed and you should contact us to check availability first. The price of your course/event may increase or decrease to reflect the changes requested by you but please note that a reduction in numbers attending a course/event will not necessarily result in a reduction in the price of the booking.

Cancellation charges

Customers may cancel a course with written notification from the lead name in your group.

The following cancellation fees apply when Lagoon Watersports is given :

More than 8 weeks notice before course/event starts

Loss of deposit up to a maximum of 25% of the course fee.

Less than 8 weeks notice before course/event starts – 100% of the course price.

At our discretion, we may allow a forfeited deposit or course to be used towards an alternative course/event run by us.

Course Cancellation by Lagoon Watersports

In circumstance where Lagoon Watersports cancels a course the customer may choose a new date or a full refund.

Force Majeure

In circumstances out of our control we will endeavour to rebook and hold credit for any activity in the future valid for 24 months.
