Rail Jam Recap – round 1 Harvey Dawkins2018-02-09T11:51:22+00:00 Saturday 25th April – Rail Jam No.1 Our first monthly rail jam was a great success, with a small but enthusiastic turnout. The practice laps kicked off at 1pm just as the weather brightened up and the riders warmed up to the new park layout before the competition started at 3pm. First up was Sian Carr heading the ladies open followed my her Dad Rich Carr in the mens rookie who both laid down some great runs to start off the comp and grab all important points towards the end of the season. Next we jumped straight into the Mens Open which promised some stiff competition between the 5 riders. Plenty of grabs and spins of the incline wedge and some solid hits on the rooftop and the flat box, even the disco pad saw some action. Everyone made a great effort pushing each other throughout the comp, but the overall winner was Nick Bowden very closely followed by James Chisholm and Sam Mann. Well done to Brendan Thompson and James Riley our youngest mens open rider at only 14 after being persuaded not to enter the Junior open on his own. Also we would like to give a big thank you to Stuart Liddiard for working the mic on the day and to our new sponsor Surface 2 Air Sports who will be providing the prizes and any support for members looking to get some new gear. Results: Mens Open Nick Bowden – 1st James Chisholm – 2nd Sam Mann – 3rd James Riley – 4th Brendan Thompson – 5th Mens Rookie Rich Carr – 1st Ladies Open Sian Carr – 1st Share this post Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google + Email Author Harvey Dawkins
