SORRY WE HAVE NO VACANCIES FOR APPRENTICES AT THE MOMENT Lagoon Watersports is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals hoping to start an exciting and rewarding career in the watersports industry. We will train apprentices to be a multi qualified watersports instructor, teaching activities such as sailing , windsurfing , and wakeboarding. “Over the last 20 years Lagoon Watersports has expanded to be a truly multi activity watersports centre. In the last few years we have struggled to employ instructors that are able to teach the full range of activities we offer. We hope that our new apprentice scheme will enable us to solve this issue. This should lead to improved efficiency for the business and more rewarding roles for new staff members” reports Lagoon Watersports director Harvey Dawkins. An Apprenticeship Program is a fantastic combination of academic learning combined with practical application giving you the capability to work within the watersports industry. Candidates will get the opportunity to personally learn a whole range of sports and activities, gain the skills to teach these sports whilst working with experienced watersports instructors. Candidates will also be involved in all the aspects and dynamics of working within a busy watersports centre – this will provide a broad range of qualification and a solid experience base. This could be the ideal opportunity for school or college leaver or even someone looking for a career change aged 18 – 24. This role is offering a starting salary of £4,180 for a 9 month contract, with a further investment of over £10,000 by the company in your training. This hands on training and career development is a fantastic opportunity. There is also further opportunity to earn additional salary by working additional hours in the summer. You will be expected to work 40 hours a week and most weekends. Upon completion of the apprenticeship the opportunity exists to progress you within Lagoon Watersports business as a fully qualified Multi Activity watersports instructor. You will be moving onto a salary of around £14,000-18,000 per annum with a host of additional benefits based on a working season of April – end of October. No experience is necessary as full training is given, but candidates with some watersports experience and a practical hands on nature are preferred. Lagoon Watersports is looking for friendly individuals, with excellent communication skills and strong passion to learn and then pass that learning onto others. Most of the work will be out doors both on dry land, on and in the water. The apprenticeship will start in late Feb 2014 and untill the end of November 2014.
