SUP surfing in Brighton Harvey Dawkins2018-02-09T11:51:28+00:00 Down along the coast near Brighton we are not blessed with the kind of waves you find in the west country, but we do get some waves every now and then. Surfing is great but SUP Surfing enables you to ride smaller and less perfect waves as well as the nice one. If you haven’t been SUP Surfing before you are missing out! Get yourself down to the Hove Lagoon, grab a board and paddle and catch a wave! Stand Up Paddle boards allow you to catch waves a lot earlier than the surfers, and even the long boarders. The boards are large so have a big surface area, which helps them glide easy and by using a paddle you get onto the wave nice and early meaning you will catch the wave a lot sooner. Another benefit is you are already standing up on your feet all ready to get that wave! Within a 5 to 15 minute paddle there are some good local spots that we head to when the waves are up. If you want to have a go at SUP surfing head down to down to our SUP clinics on Thursdays 18.00-20.00 and Sundays 16.00-18.00 – if there is a wave we will be out there! Before you know it you will be wave riding with a smile on your face. UDATE July 2012 – Lagoon Fitness staff made the trip to Cornwall for some SUP surfing and had a killer time. The waves ranged from 2 – 5 foot over a couple of days. Everyone whatever their ability had a great time , caught so many waves. We can 1005 confirm SUP surfing is brilliant. You don’t need to escape to Cornwall you can do it right here in Brighton. Watch short SUP surfing video. EASY TO LEARN AND AWESOME FUN!
