The Sportivate Scheme has been designed to encourage 14 to 25 year olds to get involved in sports by offering discounted sessions to help with the costs of taking up a new sport. The scheme aims to give young people who aren’t currently playing sport, the chance to find a sport that they like and to participate on a regular basis. Read more about Sportivate. Lagoon Watersports, Hove are offering 3 different courses, each with incentives to encourage people to continue the sport after the sessions have finished. Last year the Sportivate sessions were extremely successful and a Women and Teenager Wakeboard Club was developed after the courses finished. Lauren Meredith took part in the Teen Wakeboard Sportivate Course last year and said “It was so much fun, it was a really good workout and something fun to focus on. I learnt how to do the basics, then some cool tricks. I continued to wakeboard in the girls wakeboard club held every week at the Lagoon. The staff and instructors were really friendly and motivational” The improvements made to lagoon wake park over the winter have made it brilliant for all levels of rider, especially the addition on a new third cable dedicated for beginners, which has been part funded by the BWSW.
