Grass Roots Wakeboarding Tour at Hove Lagoon Harvey Dawkins2018-02-09T11:51:27+00:00 The Grass Roots Wakeboard tour hit Lagoon Wake Park on Saturday 20th October. The competition was aimed at anyone from a first timer to seasoned pro. Something for everyone with the day being focused on fun, progressing competitors riding and developing a community spirit at each wake park. There was a great turn out of local and visiting riders for the comp and the tricks on show were impressive to say the least. The day started off with some pro coaching from the awesome Scotty Bromme, who was on hand to give the the riders coaching and tips to improve there wake boarding skills, ready for the comp which was to be held later in the day. The event was sponsored by ION Essentials, with each rider getting a free ION wet shirt worth more than the entry fee. After the coaching there was a chance for the competitors to take part in a freeride session and get a bit of practice in before the main event. Competition time! There were lots of categories to take part in so everyone got a chance to compete at their suitable level. The standard in all the categories were high and spectators got a great display to watch. Everyone performed exceptionally well, with a massive well done to our local rider Andrew Alston for winning. The day ended with prize giving and an awesome DJ set from Subrunner sound system. Big thanks to Scotty Bromme and Toby Yeo for Mcing and judging, ION for supporting the event and all the riders that turned up and made the event a massive success.
