TOTALLY AVERAGE SUP RACE Harvey Dawkins2018-02-09T11:51:28+00:00 Every month down at the Lagoon we are holding a fun SUP sprint race as part of the coke bottle series set up by Stand up Paddle Surf UK. The first race was held back in April and was a fun yet competitive race, with fanatic team rider Charlie Grey coming first, followed by windsurf coach and legend Sam Ross with third place given to our very own James Stuart. The 2nd race had an awesome turn out with competitors trying to beat the lap times already set by the racers in the previous race. The race composed of competitors having to complete 2 laps of a figure of eight course with the fastest time winning a surprise in an ION box! The competition drew competitors from a mix of abilities, with three guys having never been on a SUP before and still completing the course in a reasonable time. The two James (staff) had a battle of their own with a nail biting finale, the extra competitive James Stuart coming out on top. After all the competitors had raced and times recorded the winner was announced as Ollie Hay, a close second was Paul Nelson and third was Lukasz Sadownik. Big thanks for all that took part, see you all again next month for the next TOTALLY AVERAGE SUP RACE! If in the meantime you want to improve your SUP skills come down and get involved in SUP clinic held every Thursday evening 18.00 – 20.00.
