Ladies Watersports Day at Hove Lagoon Sept 2013 Harvey Dawkins2018-02-09T11:51:25+00:00 On 28th September over 30 women journeyed to Lagoon Watersports in Hove for a day of fun on and off the water. Experienced water women were joined by complete newbies for a day full of various water based activities including SUP, windsurfing, SUP yoga and wakeboarding. With the sun shining (just!) all the ladies took to the water for an hour or two on every activity, some loving the fast pace of the wakeboarding, others preferring the more relaxing, but still demanding, yoga. It really was a day for all abilities, and the perfect opportunity to get a taste of a variety of watersports with like-minded ladies. The ladies were coached throughout the day, by experienced female instructors: Amy Carter took charge of the windsurf coaching, whilst Sarah Kingdom and Steph Caller provided some in depth coaching for the wakeboarding sessions. All three ladies have competed at the highest level in their chosen sport, so it’s a pleasure to have them over coaching alongside the Lagoon staff and, of course, our SUP yoga guru Gerry Broom. After hours on the water, a well earned lunch break and lots of gossiping it was time to get out of wetsuits for the prize giving and raffle. Steph had some very special prizes up for grabs for the most inspiring wakeboard ladies and Sarah had an amazing Wide-A-Wake goody bag, plus some Angry Squirrel coffee for the most ‘determined’ of the ladies. Nikita Clothing also kindly donated some beautiful clothing, to go alongside some bubbly and vouchers from Lagoon Watersports and Rhomboids sports massage, for our raffle. Thank you to everyone involved with the ladies day, we cannot wait until the next one!
